How do I assemble a teak table with screw legs?
There are different types of teak tables on the market, mostly with screw legs. How do you assemble a teak table with screw legs?
"Tip: Check once a year whether everything is still properly secured"
- Pay attention to the numbering of the legs. Each corner and leg of the table are numbered and belong together. If you do not do this, you may not be able to assemble the table or it may be crooked.
- FIXED = FIXED! The tables have an excellent construction and are always checked. If you tighten the table legs too much, the wood can split due to the great pressure. That's why FIXED = FIXED.
- Always turn the table with 2 people! No matter how strong you are, the length can make you lose control of the table. If it ends up on the ground the wrong way, that would be a shame. Therefore, always with 2 people.
- Do not place the table on the floor, but on a coffee table for example. This has the advantage that you can lift and turn the table much more easily. The coffee table (or something else you put the table on) is like a kind of lever, so you have to lift less.
- Halfway through the turn, briefly grab hold again. Do not turn the table over in one go. The table is upside down. Now turn it on its side and let the full weight rest on the table below. Be careful when repacking that you do not do both at the same time! Then grab hold again firmly and the table will be perfectly in place.
- Do not turn the table using the legs! Never use the table legs as a lever to turn the table! Always lift with 2 people and absorb the force! The construction is very sturdy, but if a heavy solid teak or oak table gets all the weight on one or two legs, it can become too heavy. (this is due to the leverage effect)
- Check the table. Maybe something was damaged during transport or turning, check this. (Always use a blanket to put the table on, this prevents scratches.)
- The table is ready for use! The table is turned over and ready for use!
