Buying chairs can sometimes be more difficult than it seems. Not everyone is the same height, not every table is the same height, so many people, so many wishes. So many people, so many choices and possibilities. Buying chairs is sometimes very close to buying a table. But of course it can also be the case that you already have the table.
Length and height of the chairs
Chairs normally have a seat height of 46cm. This can sometimes be 1 or 2 centimeters, but 46cm is the normal height. In principle, everyone sits comfortably on this. A table is between 75cm and 80cm high , depending on the height of the person. If you are taller than 190cm, the table may have a height of 79cm - 80cm. The seat height of the chair is simply 46cm. Now, it is possible that you have a table with a top height of 76cm. Even if you are taller than 190cm, you can still sit comfortably on this.
Dining table height
If you are a little shorter, for example 160cm and you have a table of 79-80cm high, you will not sit comfortably. Without discriminating , taller people can sit at a lower table with normal chairs, but not the other way around. Most wooden tables have an edge under the table top, often this is 7-8cm high. The top itself is usually 3cm thick. We can shorten the table height, but you must first check whether chairs with armrests fit at the table, if you already have them or are going to buy them. Chair maintenance
- Teak chairs do not need to be treated. You will be less likely to get stains because teak naturally has oil in the wood. If a stain does appear, just sand it lightly. If you want to prevent this, you should also treat the chairs.
- Wooden chairs that have been treated with oil or varnish can simply be maintained with a damp cloth. Please note that depending on the oil or varnish, the wood may discolour.
